Decentralized air handling units are suitable for school renovations

With Airmaster's air handling units, many schools can get an energy-efficient and flexible ventilation solution, which is very useful in renovations where there is not always room for extensive pipework and time to shut down for long periods.

A lot of attention is paid to the importance of a good indoor climate in classrooms, where healthy air quality helps students to concentrate better and not get tired at the end of the day after a long presence in the room. Here, Airmaster offers decentralised ventilation solutions that are easy to install in one room at a time and are energy efficient, which is also important in this day and age. At Roskilde private Realskole, they have chosen an Airmaster solution with diffuse  ceiling inlet, which is not visible.

"Some units are installed in connection with new ceilings, so it's very discreet. In addition, the school has chosen Airlinq Online, our proprietary web portal, where they have an overview/monitoring of flow, air quality and temperature, among other things, and the technical staff at the school can adjust as needed," explains René Haahr, Area Manager at Airmaster.

Roskilde private Realskole is happy with the efficient and aesthetically pleasing solution

Principal at Roskilde private Realskole, Klaus Espersen, confirms that part of the reason for choosing Airmaster's ventilation solution was that it could be installed in one room at a time and that they had already heard good things about Airmaster – also from professionals:

"We had to install the ventilation while students and teachers were at the school. We have focused a lot on indoor climate with light, sound, and air, and while half of the school already has ventilation, the other half lacks it. Today, we can see that Airmaster has delivered the air quality they promised, which I can track on my computer. In addition, we have chosen the solution with lowered ceilings so that the relatively large units do not take up much space in the rooms. It's also an aesthetic choice. We have chosen the solution of air blown out over the diffuse ceiling and trickling down through it so that students and teachers in the rooms are not exposed to draughts from the ventilation. We are very satisfied."

Healthy indoor climate for students and teachers

Indeklimaentreprise A/S was responsible for the indoor climate renovation at Roskilde private Realskole, and Uffe Jespersen, a civil engineer, mentions that in connection with the indoor climate renovation at Roskilde private Realskole, they had to install the Airmaster units, which they made work optimally.

René Haahr says that the Danish Working Environment Authority is focused on the  subject, but mostly in connection with the teachers' working environment.

"There is also a great need to look at the students' well-being, concentration and learning ability, and when it comes to existing schools, the decentralised solution is obvious. It is energy-efficient and has low CO2 emissions, and schools can choose to install it in their rooms as funding allows. It's not a solution that needs to be implemented across the entire school if you don't want it in the first place," he adds.
